Alexander Galushka, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Russian Federation

Alexander Galushka was appointed the Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East in September 2013. Current responsibilities of the Ministry include coordination of work on the realisation of state and targeted federal programmes, federal property management and supervision of control over exercise of powers of the Russian Federation by local governmental authorities of federal subjects in the Russian Far East.

Galushka graduated from the Economics Institute of Moscow State Social University, specialising in Economics and Sociology of Labour and in 2001 from the professional development programme at Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics. In 1998, he headed the Centre for Management of Appraisal and Consulting (MOK-Centre). From 2010 to 2012, he was the President of the All Russia Public Organisation "Business Russia" and a member of the Government Commission on the Socio-economic Development of the Russian Far East, the Republic of Buryatia, the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Irkutsk Region. Since June 12, 2013, Alexander Galushka has been Co-Chairman of the Central Headquarters of the People's Front ‘For Russia' public movement.
